With her passion for the world of gin and her vision for the future, Sarah brings a unique blend of expertise and creativity to Rockfield Spirits. Let’s dive into her story and discover what makes our gin truly special.
What did you do before creating your gin and distillery?
Before venturing into the world of gin, I spent 30 wonderful years in education, with the last 7 years as a headteacher at Clifford Primary School. It was an incredibly fulfilling role where I had the joy of educating and nurturing young minds. I have so many cherished memories from those days, but after three decades, it was time for a new chapter.

What made you decide to create your gin distillery, and what’s the inspiration behind your gin?
The idea to start a gin distillery was actually sparked by my husband, Paul. He was inspired by the idea of creating something that would bring joy to others, and gin felt like the perfect choice. For me, the inspiration came from wanting to create an experience—a space where people could relax, learn, and really enjoy the art of gin-making. That’s how our gin classes were born!
When it came to the gin itself, we wanted to start with the classics. Paul is a big fan of a crisp, clean Dry Gin, so that was an easy first choice. As for me, I’m drawn to the fruity notes of our Pink Gin—it’s a bit of a crowd-pleaser and adds a fun twist to our lineup
What is your ambition for Rockfield Spirits in the years to come?
Our biggest ambition is to expand our reach. We want to see our logo recognised not just locally, but far and wide. Strengthening and expanding our distribution channels is a key focus for us so that more people can discover and enjoy our gin. It’s all about getting Rockfield Spirits into the hands of gin lovers everywhere!
What are your favourite ways to drink your gin?
I love enjoying my gin with friends. Regardless of the occasion, I always serve my gin with plenty of ice, a splash of crisp tonic, and some fresh fruit. My go-to garnishes are orange slices, raspberries, or a few apple wedges—they really elevate the flavours
What’s next for you and Rockfield Spirits? Any exciting plans?
We’re always looking ahead and have some exciting plans in the works! We’re expanding our range with additional flavoured gins, and we’re even dipping our toes into the world of rum. It’s an exciting time for us, and we can’t wait to share these new creations with our customers.
